Overview

The Vista® L2 builds on the proven Vista® platform to expand measurement capability, improve usability, and enhance diagnostic confidence—without disrupting existing workflows.

Designed for transmission color measurement of liquids and solids, Vista® L2 maintains full compatibility with established methods and accessories while introducing new capabilities that provide deeper insight into color, haze, and overall product quality.

Core Foundation: Continuity Without Compromise

All Vista® systems—including Vista® L2—share a common measurement foundation:

  • Transmission-based color measurement
  • Full-spectrum LED illumination
  • Flexible pathlength configurations
  • Compatibility with existing accessories and workflows

What this means:

Users can upgrade to Vista® L2 without retraining, revalidation, or workflow disruption.

Expanded Measurement Capability (Up to 710 nm)

Why It Matters

Vista® L2 extends measurement range from 700 nm to 710 nm, enabling improved separation of:

  • Absorption (true color)
  • Scattering (haze / turbidity)
At longer wavelengths:
  • Absorption from most color bodies decreases
  • Scattering effects become more dominant

Result: You gain clearer insight into whether a visual change is caused by color or haze.

Increased Onboard Storage

  • Expanded from 8 GB 32 GB
Benefits:
  • Store more data, standards, and methods directly on the instrument
  • Reduce reliance on external systems
HDMI Connectivity
  • Connect to external displays
Benefits:
  • Improved visualization
  • Easier training and demonstrations
  • Better troubleshooting and serviceability

Improved Diagnostic Confidence

One of the most significant improvements in Vista® L2 is the redesign of the instrument diagnostic verification process. While the diagnostic test itself remains the same, the workflow has been modernized to improve ease of use, reduce operator involvement, and increase confidence that the instrument is performing to specification.

Vista® with Essentials

The original Vista® uses a separate external didymium diagnostic filter that must be manually inserted by the operator whenever instrument diagnostics are performed. The operator is responsible for locating the filter, placing it correctly into the optical path, running the verification procedure, and then removing and storing the filter afterward.

Because the filter is handled during every diagnostic procedure, it can become contaminated with fingerprints, dust, or scratches if not properly maintained. Incorrect placement or handling can also introduce unnecessary operator variability into the verification process.

Vista® with Essentials L2

Vista® with Essentials L2 retains the same external didymium diagnostic filter while introducing the streamlined Essentials L2 guided workflow. The software provides step-by-step instructions that simplify the diagnostic procedure and reduce operator training requirements, although manual handling of the filter is still required.

Vista® L2 with Essentials L2

Vista® L2 introduces a completely redesigned diagnostic workflow by incorporating the didymium diagnostic filter directly into the instrument. Instead of manually installing an external filter, the operator simply initiates the verification routine from the touchscreen. The instrument automatically positions the internal didymium filter within the optical path, performs the diagnostic verification, and returns the filter to its protected storage position when complete.

By eliminating manual filter handling, Vista® L2 protects the diagnostic standard from contamination, fingerprints, dust, and accidental damage while ensuring it is always positioned correctly during verification. This automated process significantly reduces operator variability, mistake-proofs routine diagnostics, and provides faster, more consistent verification of instrument performance.

Key Benefits

  • Eliminates manual handling of the didymium diagnostic filter
  • Protects the diagnostic standard from contamination and damage
  • Automatically positions the filter for consistent verification
  • Reduces operator training and workflow complexity
  • Eliminates errors associated with filter placement and handling
  • Provides faster, one-touch diagnostic verification
  • Improves confidence that the instrument is operating within specification

Result: Vista® L2 delivers a faster, cleaner, and more repeatable diagnostic verification process that reduces operator involvement while providing greater confidence in measurement accuracy and long-term instrument performance.

What This Means for Your Operation

With Vista® L2, you gain:

  • More insight per measurement
  • Improved process control
  • Faster troubleshooting
  • Reduced need for additional instruments
  • Greater confidence in your data

Conclusion

Vista® L2 is not just an incremental upgrade—it’s a meaningful expansion of what your color measurement system can tell you. By extending measurement capability, enhancing diagnostics, and maintaining workflow continuity, it enables smarter decisions without added complexity.
